Gazing up at the stars

I always enjoy photographing the night sky, but it can sure be difficult in the NYC area. Lots of light pollution. That aside my friend Matias invited me out to enjoy the Quadrantid Meteor Shower. We decided to meet around 2am and get setup for the peak event 3am-5am. It really was a treat. To be sitting in the frigged (it was negative 2!) cold air and enjoy the silence while watching meteors strike the earths atmosphere was truly an experience. Above is the compiled image and if you'd like click on the video below for a compiled sequence of the event. Watch carefully for one of the main streaks we saw that morning (faint strikes in the video but not in person.)
